Can someone tell me if its ok to cook chicken dumplings this way?

i am going to season and cook the chicken first. then when it is cooked to my liking, then i will shred it and stuff it in the dough and boil them. if this is ok then can someone tell me if i should boil the chicken or pan cook it. i would really like some help with this. i am cooking for 8 people tonight and would really love help! i just made the dough so i have messed up on anything! so any suggestions please help!!!!!!
