How can I get the Grim Reaper to talk to me on TS3?

I have testingcheatsenabled on and I made the grim reaper come a lot by forcing NPC or whatever it is and I made him my sim's best friend with the cheat, but when ever I try to click on him to talk to him nothing happens. It used to let me sometimes before when someone died but it doesn't let me now. How can I get him to talk to me? Oh and if I shift click him to try to add him to my household it's not an option. How can I get him to talk to me?
