Should I break the ice with my boyfriend?

My boyfriend has been busy working 2 jobs. He only calls me once a day an average of a 10 minute conversation.not everyday though. I called him when he got out his last job and told him how I felt he wanst putting much effort to call me he told me " I call you iguess that's not effort then I won't call you at all" and hung up on me. It made me sad that he isn't considering my feelings. I haavent heard from him all day yesterday and still haven't heard from him today. Guess he really meant what he said. Why couldn't he just prove me his effort more?? Should I text him. Or wait till he initiates a text? We've been together for 2yrs he's 30 I'm 27
